Healthcare

As there is no permanent hospital or health centre in Somsar village, it is our prime concern to extend healthcare services in Somsar Village. The population of Somsar village itself is around 5,000 and that put togather with five other adjoining villages is 15,000. Health sevices available for this' large number of people is only through a Subsidiary Health Centre, situated at Khandaghosh about 8 KMs away, which is far from sufficient. The Seva Mandir is actively providing healthcare to the villagers.
Vivekananda Swasthya Seva Sangha provides weekly Sunday clinic in Somsar and adjoining villages. They examine the patient and free medicines are distributed. They organize specialist clinic in the villages as per the villages demand. Eye camp, Gynecology camp, Dental camp, Diabetes clinic are some of the specialist camp.

Treatment of Patients
VSSS Mobile Health Care Unit provides X-ray and other diagnostic facility when required.
Public health development is consolidated by “Home Visit programme.” The home visits are made by the trained CHG volunteers. This programme brought excellent results. The CHG visit the families living in Somsar, collect required information, advise them on matters concerning Health care needs and makes sure that advice is getting adhered to. It is through home visit that the problems and requirements for the villages get highlighted.

Swami Bhutesananda Centenary Health Centre
Srimat Swami Bhutesananda Centenary Health Centre at Somsar was inaugurated in 2008 to help the villagers meet their medical needs. The hospital currently has a few beds and medical personnel dedicated to the hospital.
