Prayer Hall

On various occasions, the revered Monks of Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission blessed numerous devotees of the Ashram by initiating them. In the meantime, Revered Srimath Swami Gahananandaji Maharaj, Rev. Srimath Swami Atmasthanandaji Maharaj, Rev. Swami Gitanandaji Maharaj, Rev. Swami Smarananandaji Maharaj and Rev. Swami Promeyanandji Maharaj all had visited this spiritual place. This mandir has become a centre for gratifying the spiritual thrust of the local devotees. On special occasions, huge devotees gather at Somsar Ashram.

Unfortunately, the present Prayer Hall is too small and due to some obvious reasons it is getting damaged day by day making it risky for the devotees. Under the above circumstances, the Management of Somsar Sri Ramakrishna Seva Mandir has planned to build up a compact Sri Ramakrishna Mandir and prayer hall in place of the existing Prayer Hall. With the above view, in consultation with the Reverent Sanyashies of Ramakrishna Math, a drawing has been prepared by the expert engineers.

When completed, this new Prayer Hall shall provide enough space for at least 200 devotees to assemble together for prayer. Apart from that, a spacious 'Garva Mandir', store room, kitchen will be there in the new Prayer Hall.
The images of Thakur Sri Ramakrishna Dev, Sri Sri Ma, and Swamiji were transferred to a makeshift Prayer Hall by Rev. Swami Sarvabhutanandaji Maharaj on 21 June 2012.

On the auspicious day of 29 July 2012, Rev. Swami Smarananandaji Maharaj, the Vice President of Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission, initiated the construction work and laid the foundation stone.
